Achievement Objectives

Learning Outcomes

AO1.Students can use differences and similarities in external characteristics to distinguish broad groups of living things

Students will label the external features of a tui in English and in Te Reo Maori

AO2. Students can investigate and understand the general functions of the main parts of animals and plants

Students explain how each of the external features of the tui are used eg beak, feet, wings, feathers

AO3. Students can investigate and understand the changes that take place in animals and plants during their life cycles

Students will produce a circle diagram which shows the life cycle of a tui

AO4. Students can investigate the responses of plants or animals to environmental changes in their habitats

Students will be able to talk about how tui are able to respond to the seasonal changes of trees in their environment, by feeding from a range of trees that provide food at different times of the year.
